Frequently Asked Questions
General
What is SLOHM?
SLOHM is a reserve currency protocol on Bitcoin L1 via OPNet, inspired by Olympus DAO.
How is SLOHM different from OHM?
SLOHM runs on Bitcoin using OPNet smart contracts, introducing "SlowFi" mechanics.
Is SLOHM a stablecoin?
No. SLOHM is a reserve currency — its price floats above a backing floor.
What backs SLOHM?
BTC (in multisig), MOTO, PILL, and LP tokens (in smart contracts).
Staking
How do I stake?
- Acquire SLOHM on a DEX
- Navigate to Stake page
- Enter amount and confirm
When do I receive rewards?
Every epoch (~144 blocks / ~1 day). Your sSLOHM balance increases automatically.
Can I unstake anytime?
Yes, there is no lock-up period.
What APY can I expect?
During bootstrap: 1000-2000%. Decreases over time as protocol matures.
Bonding
Why bond instead of buy?
Bonding gives you SLOHM at a discount (5-25% off) but requires ~5 day vesting.
What assets can I bond?
MOTO, PILL, and LP tokens. More may be added via governance.
Can I claim partially vested bonds?
Yes, claim whatever has vested so far.
Treasury
Who controls the treasury?
A 4-of-7 community multisig.
Can I redeem SLOHM for backing?
Yes, burn SLOHM to receive proportional treasury assets.
Why is BTC held off-chain?
OPNet contracts cannot hold BTC directly. The multisig model matches early Olympus.
Technical
What blockchain is SLOHM on?
Bitcoin L1, using OPNet for smart contracts.
What wallet do I need?
A wallet that supports OPNet, such as OP_WALLET.
Are the contracts audited?
Audits are planned before mainnet. Reports will be published.
